Tehran Cardiometabolic Genetic Study (TCGS)

Tehran Cardiometabolic Genetic Study (TCGS) began in 2003 by recruiting an Original Cohort of 15005 men and women between 3 and 95 years old from region 13 of Tehran. Over the years, careful monitoring and genetic evaluation of the TCGS population has led to identifying major CVD risk factors and valuable information on the effects of these factors such as blood pressure, blood triglyceride and cholesterol levels, age, gender, and psychosocial issues. In addition, the relationships between physical traits and genetic patterns are being studied. We are proud that what began decades ago still is going strong today. We could not have succeeded without the dedication of the thousands of participants in our study and our employees. This study aims to build a suitable infrastructure for the Iranian reference genome .
